Problem with Import Customization in Internet Explorer 7.0

I have recently upgraded my browser from IE6 to IE7. Now here comes the issue. Whenever I try to import my customizations, it shows the Import dialog box as given in the picture below:

MSCRM shows this dialog box and keeps showing it no matter how long I wait for it. After an hour of research I have come to know that it’s a known issue with IE7 and MSCRM and Microsoft has provided a hot fix to resolve this problem. If you simply close this dialog box after some seconds then publish the customization, it works. Here are details of my findings and the Microsoft hot fix available for MSCRM 3.0.

Hot fix Details:

The Import Customizations Web page does not close as expected when you try to import customizations in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 after you install Internet Explorer 7SYMPTOMS You install Windows Internet Explorer 7. Then, you try to import customizations in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. However, the Import Customizations Web page does not close as expected after you click Import All Customizations or Import Selected Customizations. Additionally, the import process is not completed.

This has been doing my head in for the last couple of days. IE7 was on my dev server so I was unable to uninstall IE7 to resolve this issue.

    Thanks for making this public.

    Regards
    Si
